(Patria) - The evacuation of BiH citizens from Israel and Iran is scheduled to begin today.
This follows the deteriorating security situation in these two countries after Israel launched attacks on Iran on June 13, which was subsequently followed by a response from official Tehran.
The Presidency of BiH, at an extraordinary session held yesterday, made a decision on the temporary closure of BiH embassies in the Islamic Republic of Iran (Tehran) and in Israel (Tel Aviv).
An urgent and temporary evacuation of personnel from the embassies in Tehran and Tel Aviv has been ordered.
BiH's political-diplomatic representation in Iran and Israel will be carried out from the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sarajevo in the coming period, while consular representation will be provided through diplomatic-consular missions in the Republic of Turkey (Ankara and Istanbul), the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (Amman), and the Arab Republic of Egypt (Cairo).
The Presidency of BiH has tasked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the implementation of this decision, which takes effect on the day it is made.
