Second semester begins in Sarajevo Canton, online classes only in case of 'Alert'

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton announces that regular classes for the second semester of the 2019/2020 school year will begin in accordance with the school calendar, tomorrow, Wednesday, January 29, 2020.

After conducting a survey, in cooperation with the Parent Council of Sarajevo Canton, it was decided that classes for students from grades V to IX of primary school and students from grades I to IV of secondary school will be conducted as online classes, which have the character of regular classes and will not be made up. For students from grades I to IV of primary school, the teacher will provide parents with instructions (e.g., via a Viber group) for students to learn and possibly conduct checks. This applies only in the case when the Government of Sarajevo Canton makes a decision to declare an episode of „ALERT“.

Also, we invite you to follow the adoption of decisions on the declaration of episodes: „Preparedness“ or „Warning“ or „Alert“ on the website of the Government of Sarajevo Canton. In the event of the declaration of episodes „Preparedness” or „Warning“, we invite you to act in accordance with the previously given instructions of the Ministry (children do not stay in open spaces outside the building during short and long breaks, physical education classes are not held in the school yard, holding sports and cultural activities outdoors is prohibited), and at the time of the declaration of the episode „Alert“, we ask you to act in accordance with the above.

On this occasion, the relevant ministry wished a successful start, much luck in the second semester of the 2019/2020 school year, and as low a concentration of polluting particles in the air as possible.
