Removal of stalls from Kvadrant market begins, new ones to be installed next week

(Patria) - Following the fire at the Kvadrant market, work continued today on clearing sheet metal, roof structures, and removing stalls.

The director of KJKP Tržnice-Pijace, Jasmin Terović, stated that the destroyed stalls will be removed during the night in cooperation with KJKP Rad.

He emphasized that he expects the fire site to be cleared as soon as possible so that the market can be renovated and new stalls brought in immediately afterwards.

"I am convinced that we will manage to clear everything by the end of the week or the beginning of next week, so that preparations can begin for bringing in and installing new stalls and renovating the market," said Terović.

The Sarajevo Canton Government yesterday considered the new situation, and a model to help tenants will be found soon.

One possibility is to allocate funds from the budget for one-time assistance, and another is to provide for the rental costs for these tenants for one year in the 2024 budget, as well as the payment of contributions.
