New grass being laid at Grbavica Stadium

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The grass from Greece arrived at Grbavica today. Its installation has already begun, and Željezničar will play their first match on the new turf on July 18 when Narva Trans from Estonia arrives at Grbavica in the second leg of the first qualifying round of the Europa League.

Football Club Željezničar will have the most beautiful turf in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina next season.

The replacement of the entire turf began on May 21. The value of installing the new turf is around 1.2 million BAM, and the project was financed by FK Željezničar with the help of institutions.

The renovation works on the turf are being carried out by the Greek-Bulgarian company Hellasod/Greentech, with whom the Sarajevo club has signed a contract.

- We will have the best pitch in the region and beyond. The total value of the investment is 1,216,000 BAM, and in the second phase, the BiH FA will install a hybrid pitch that will cost 200,000 euros and will be on par with Wembley, said Senad Misimović, president of FK Željezničar.
