Concreting of the tram line from Ilidža to Hrasnica has begun

(Patria) - Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Šteta announced on social media that concreting of the tram line from Ilidža to Hrasnica has begun.

"The field is always the best, especially when working on projects that have been waiting for decades for their realization.

Concreting of the new tram line to Hrasnica has begun. This morning, work started on the construction of the reinforced concrete slab, and in the afternoon, the first meters of concrete were laid on the future track.

This is the first expansion of the tram line since 1962, and it is clear that I am proud to be building the track and everything we will witness today and in the months to come.

There have been challenges and there are still great challenges, which are being solved day by day, so that the project progresses at the desired pace.

This is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Sarajevo Canton and I am happy to be part of this project that has only been talked about for decades.

In the coming months, about 13,000 meters of concrete slab will be built. Along with the reinforced concrete slab, work will also be carried out on the foundations of the contact network poles, which will be located between the two tracks.

Various types of works are being carried out along the entire route, and the first part where the reinforced concrete slab will be built is from Ilidža to the roundabout in Butmir, and in this section, 8 tram stop platforms have also been completed.

The concreting of the tram line is a prelude to the phased installation of rails, and the first kilometers of rails for the tram line have been delivered to Sarajevo," Šteta wrote on his Facebook profile.
