Work begins on the reconstruction of the roadway in Olimpijska Street

(Patria) - Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Šteta visited the start of the reconstruction works on the roadway in Olimpijska Street, a new project of the Ministry of Transport and the KS Roads Directorate in the municipality of Novi Grad.

The project includes the reconstruction of 622 meters of roadway and the renovation of sidewalks on both sides. The sidewalks along this roadway are in extremely poor condition and are very unsafe for pedestrians. The reconstruction will be carried out from the junction with Safeta Hadžića Street to the roundabout. Olimpijska Street has not been reconstructed since the Olympics.

“By reconstructing this roadway, we will achieve quality and safety, as it is in poor condition. This year we are reconstructing Olimpijska, and next year our plan is to reconstruct the roadway that is in extremely poor condition, the one in Ive Andrića Street. In this way, we will get a quality functional unit, into which the Ministry of Transport and the KS Roads Directorate have invested significant funds, and which connects two parts of Novi Grad. This unit will lead us from the roundabout at the Airport, across the A transversal, through Olimpijska Street, Ive Andrića Street, across the roundabout in Džemala Bijedića and further across the bridge towards the IX transversal and the highway", stated Minister Šteta.

Work on the reconstruction of the roadway in Olimpijska Street began today, and the contractor is KJKP RAD. The value of the works is 705,981.96 with VAT, and the funds were secured from the budget of the Ministry of Transport and the KS Roads Directorate.
