Work begins on General Hospital isolation ward

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Work began this morning on establishing an isolation ward for the accommodation and treatment of patients with Covid-19 in the premises of the former Garrison clinic within the General Hospital "Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš".

The start of the work was attended by representatives of the contractor "Sela" d.o.o. Sarajevo, the design firm IDEA d.o.o, representatives of UNDP and the General Hospital.

"We are pleased that the reconstruction of the Garrison clinic and the former military hospital ward is starting. The facility is returning to its original purpose, i.e., the General Hospital, where an isolation ward for the treatment of patients with Covid-19 will be located, and where our healthcare institution's staff will work. After the epidemic, this will be a hospital complex that we will make available to sick fellow citizens. It will be a center of excellence, both as an isolation ward and in the future as a hospital capacity for treating other diseases," said Prof. Dr. Ismet Gavrankapetanović, acting director of the General Hospital, on this occasion.
