8th Rally Jahorina race begins, drivers to cover 230 km

Participants of the international race 8th Rally Jahorina started this morning at 9 AM from the premises of "AC Quattro" Auto Dealership towards Dariva, and the race concludes around 4 PM, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

The race features 15 cars with two members each, and for the first time, two women from Serbia are participating. The race distance is 230 km, and the drivers will pass through Sarajevo, East Sarajevo, via Trebević and Jahorina. Upon completion, medals and trophies will be awarded to the best.

Otherwise, this race was opened last night by the Mayor of Sarajevo, Ivo Komšić, at the Trg djece Sarajeva (Sarajevo Children's Square). Mirko Gerh, one of the organizers, says that the competitors are, precisely, 15 crews of two members each from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.

- The race covers 230 kilometers, of which five are speed stages. The most interesting is Stari Grad, where they will drive in first gear. At 6 PM, the winners will be announced in front of the BBI Center. We cannot predict the winner. Rallying is unpredictable and lasts a long time. The winners will receive trophies and awards - says Gerh.
