House of Representatives session begins, no support for Mektić's dismissal

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly has begun in Sarajevo, and on the agenda is the request for a vote on the reconstruction of the Council of Ministers of BiH, submitted by SNSD and DNS MPs Staša Košarac, Lazar Prodanović, Dušanka Majkić, Nikola Špirić, Milica Marković, Miroslav Milovanović, Borislav Bojić, Đorđo Krčmar and Jovan Vukovljak, or the request for the dismissal of the Minister of Security of BiH, Dragan Mektić.

Šemsudin Mehmedović (SDA) said before the session that SDA will not support this dismissal, as they primarily believe that Mektić has conscientiously performed his duties, but also that it is too late for any dismissals.

Although there were speculations that there would be no quorum, the session has started, and ministers of the Council of Ministers of BiH are answering MPs' questions.

The House of Representatives of the BiH PA will also consider the request of MPs Saša Magazinović, Jasmin Emrić, Mirsad Isaković, Momčilo Novaković, Šemsudin Mehmedović, Borislav Bojić, Maja Gasal Vražalica, Damir Bećirović, Senad Šepić and Lazar Prodanović for the consideration of the Bill on Amendments to the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina under an urgent procedure, which relates to the punishment of abuse of the internet and social networks for acts of terrorism.

Also on the agenda is the Bill on Prevention of Conflict of Interest in BiH Institutions.

MPs will also consider the Information on the state of public debt of Bosnia and Herzegovina as of December 31, 2017.
