Sanitation and restoration of the facade of the Sarajevo Canton and Centar Municipality building has begun

(Patria) - The Centar Municipality of Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Government of Sarajevo Canton, has commenced work on the sanitation and restoration of the facade of the Sarajevo Canton and Centar Municipality building.

This project holds particular significance because the building, since 2014 when it suffered arson, has represented not only a visual problem in the very heart of the city but also a security threat.

Based on the public procurement procedure, a framework agreement for the sanitation and restoration of the facade has been signed, with a total value of BAM 1,751,490.00. Of this amount, the Government of Sarajevo Canton is co-financing the project with BAM 700,000, while the remaining part is financed by the Centar Municipality.

With these significant investments, the Centar Municipality and Sarajevo Canton are jointly contributing to the preservation of the cultural-historical identity and security of this recognizable building, and to restoring its authentic appearance in accordance with the highest restoration standards.
