Reconstruction of water supply network begins in Muse Ćazima Ćatića and Iza Hrida streets

Reconstruction of the damaged water supply network has begun in Iza Hrida street, from the intersection with Kamenica street to the elementary school “Šejh Muhamed ef. Hadžijamaković”, which will finally solve the problem of burst pipes and water spilling onto this street. This malfunction is particularly dangerous in winter when, due to low temperatures, water spillage creates black ice, and traffic accidents are not uncommon. The Old Town Municipality has allocated funds for the reconstruction of the entire water supply network on this part of the street and conducted the selection of the contractor. The company Mibral d.o.o is in charge of the network reconstruction, while KJKP “Rad” will complete the asphalt paving.

The new street pipeline will be laid over a length of 275 meters, and the removal of the old asphalt layer, excavation, and transport of the asphalt surface to the landfill are underway. Research and marking of underground installations will be carried out before and during the execution of works by utility companies. A temporary pipeline will also be installed to supply water to surrounding residential buildings during the works. After laying the main pipeline, new household connections will be made. Upon completion of these works, the street will be asphalted and new sidewalks will be constructed.

A total of approximately 174,000 KM will be allocated for the works in Iza Hrida street, financed by the Old Town Municipality. The works should be completed within two months.

At the same time, reconstruction is underway on Muse Ćazima Ćatića street, in the Old Town local community of Logavina. The removal of the old, worn-out asphalt on the street over a length of 280 meters is in progress.

Upon completion of these works, excavations for the reconstruction of the water supply network and replacement of worn-out pipes will begin. When KJKP “Vodovod i kanalizacija” finishes these works, the street will be asphalted, and new curbs, manholes, and drainage grates will be installed. The value of the works on replacing the water supply network is estimated at around 130,000 KM, while an additional 90,000 KM will be allocated for asphalt paving.
