Training Begins for Members of the Mobile Team for Support of Inclusive Education in Sarajevo Canton

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At the proposal of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, the Government of Sarajevo Canton gave consent for the formation of the Mobile Team for support of inclusive education in Sarajevo Canton.

In this regard, the engagement of 20 psychologists, 20 special education teachers and 20 speech therapists was approved, and the competition procedures for the recruitment of the said staff in schools have been completed. In order to support inclusive processes and promote social inclusion, the expert mobile team is obliged to build its own capacities for working with diversity, and to encourage the growth, learning and achievements of children with disabilities, announced the Protocol and Press Service of Sarajevo Canton.

The expert work of the members of the Mobile Team implies understanding the principles and philosophy of inclusive education, responsibility and ethics, teamwork and partnership with the family and local community, planning and monitoring, expert assistance and support to the child, parents and colleagues, as well as personal and professional development.

In addition to working with and supporting children, members of the Mobile Expert Team dedicate a significant part of their professional engagement to building partnerships with parents/guardians and colleagues, establishing cooperation with
the health and social protection sectors, organizations of persons with disabilities and professional associations. Members of the Mobile Team will provide expert support to preschool institutions, primary and secondary schools.

The training of members of this expert team began today, on Friday, February 7, 2020, at the Elementary School „Edhem Mulabdić“, after which the candidates will receive certificates for successfully completed education for members of the Mobile
Team. The education is implemented based on the Training Program for Mobile Expert Teams in Sarajevo Canton, and the trainers are Prof. Dr. Lejla Kafedžić, Assistant Prof. Dr. Sandra Bjelan-Guska and MA Zumreta Jejna.

Also, the Ministry has prepared an Education Program for assistants employed in primary and secondary schools of Sarajevo Canton. The education of engaged assistants in the class/group will be implemented in the period from
February 17 to 26, 2020, according to the schedule that has been delivered to schools.

The assistants will receive certificates for successfully completed education for assistants. The education of members of mobile teams and assistants will be conducted continuously.
