Reconstruction of the road to Trebević has begun

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister Adem Zolj and Minister of Transport Mujo Fišo today, together with the Director of the KS Road Directorate Selmir Kovač and the representative of Sarajevoputevi Selvedin Mulić, visited the construction site of the road to the Sarajevo resort of Trebević, the reconstruction of which began at the start of this week. As emphasized, this is intended to ensure better access to the resort, which is visited throughout the year, for the citizens of Sarajevo Canton, as well as for tourists.

The renovation of the section of the road to Trebević belonging to KS runs from the monument near Vrac, for a length of 640 meters, and the second part runs from the turn-off at the top of Trebević towards Brus, for a length of 2,373 meters.

Given that the regional road R-446, which starts from the main road M-18 in Lukavica and leads to Trebević, does not follow the entity line and enters the Federation of BiH in two places, while the remaining part is located in the RS, the maintenance of this road has been very difficult in recent years.

- It is very important that these road construction works are carried out qualitatively and systematically. The replacement of the bearing layer and the sub-base of the road structure is planned in two parts due to landslides. Drainage must also be taken into account - Prime Minister Zolj stated, adding that 513 thousand KM have been allocated for this purpose.

He emphasized that Trebević is a beautiful resort visited by more than hundreds of hikers and tourists even on weekdays. Precisely because of this, the road renovation is necessary, and the reconstruction of the parking area is planned for the near future.

- The Ministry of Transport, through the Road Directorate, wants Trebević to become a tourist center, which is why we are renovating this road - stated Minister Fišo.

Representative Mulić stated that the construction site is currently being prepared, signal boards and traffic signals are being installed, after which the road restoration will follow.

According to him, there will be no major traffic disruptions during the works.
