Construction of the interstate bridge over the Sava River near Svilaj has begun

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić attended the ceremonial opening of the start of works on the interstate bridge over the Sava River near Svilaj today. In his address to those present at the ceremonial opening of the works, Zvizdić emphasized that this infrastructure project symbolically represents the clearly defined priorities of the Council of Ministers of BiH to raise cooperation with neighbors to a higher level, enrich it in order to create a promising future for the entire region of Southeast Europe, as well as for the European Union, which we aspire to and are rapidly joining, reports the Patria agency.

The foundation stone, which officially marked the start of the works, was laid by the Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH Ismir Jusko and the Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia Oleg Butković.

The bridge near Svilaj, with a total length of 640 meters and a width of 29 meters, with three lanes planned for each direction, is a major infrastructure project on Corridor 5C, which will connect the highway from the Bosnian-Herzegovinian and Croatian sides of the Sava River. The total value of the project is EUR 22,308,000 (excluding VAT), and the planned construction period is two years. The contractors are the Business Association Viadukt d.d. Zagreb and the company Hering d.d. Široki Brijeg.
