Construction of bus stop in Braće Begić Street begins

At the request of residents of Sarajevo's local community Koševsko brdo, the Department for Spatial Planning and Communal Affairs of the Centar Municipality has launched a project to build a bus stop at Braće Begić Street 19 near the Mehmed-beg Kapetanović Ljubušak Elementary School, reports the Patria news agency.  

At that location, the bus stop was directly on the roadway, causing major traffic congestion, and passengers were exposed to danger when boarding and alighting from public transport vehicles. Due to all of the above, the Centar Municipality initiated the implementation of this very significant project, and works began on July 1.

According to Đenita Bogunić-Kešelj, head of the Communal Affairs Department in the Centar Municipality, it is planned that the works will be completed by the end of July this year.

-We issued a building permit. 121,000 KM has been allocated for the works, while additional funds will be approved for the relocation of installations, of which there are many, Bogunić-Kešelj emphasized.

Residents of the aforementioned local community expressed satisfaction with the implementation of this project because, as they said, for decades they have been boarding and alighting from public transport vehicles without having ensured even minimal safety conditions.

Avdo Vatrić, director of KJKP Gras, also pointed out that the construction of the stop is of enormous importance for passengers and this company.

-Any help and implementation of projects that contribute to increasing passenger safety and improving the quality of our services means a lot to us. Now passengers will be able to get out of vehicles more easily and safely on a very busy road, Vatrić said.

The construction works on the bus stop are being carried out by the construction company ''Grakop'', and supervision is entrusted to the company ''Coning'' d.o.o. Sarajevo, announced the Centar Municipality.
