Registration and identification of migrants begins at the Lipa reception camp

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At the Lipa reception camp near Bihać, registration and issuance of identification cards begins today for about a thousand migrants accommodated in the camp.

"We must start the procedure of issuing identification cards and establish a biometric system with databases so that it is known at all times whether the migrants staying in the camp are registered," emphasized Mirsad Buzar, deputy director of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports RTV USK.

We recall that at the beginning of winter, difficult conditions prevailed in this camp for the stay of illegal migrants and refugees.

After several appeals and activities by foreign and domestic officials, the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina set up heated tents and the migrants were accommodated in acceptable conditions.

Today, the House of Representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina called for the containers from the closed Bira camp to be moved to the Lipa camp.
