333 pensioners receive 50 BAM for bread and milk every month

The Service for Labour, Health and Social Affairs, Refugees and Displaced Persons of Centar Municipality has completed the revision of lists with names of beneficiaries of permanent financial assistance who meet the conditions within the project “Bread and Milk for Pensioners“. During the revision, 15 beneficiaries lost their right to this permanent financial assistance due to changes in their status, such as: death of the beneficiary, employment of a family household member, relocation to another municipality, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

- Instead of these beneficiaries, we have included 15 new pensioners, so on the new revised list, we also have 333 pensioners with minimal income who receive this type of assistance within the project “Bread and Milk for Pensioners“. Since it is possible to apply for this right throughout the year, our service receives new applications from beneficiaries almost daily. The project, launched in 2009, has proven to be a great success, as beneficiaries of assistance tell us that the 50 BAM they receive at the beginning of each month from Centar Municipality within this project is helpful, especially in situations when pension payments are delayed. Until now, we have paid funds to pensioners at the Centar Municipality cash desk during the first five days of the month, and from January this year, funds will be transferred to the accounts of beneficiaries opened in one of the banks in BiH.

In this year's municipal budget, the amount of 200,000 BAM is planned for the implementation of this project. In addition to the list of pensioners, we have also revised the list of individuals over 65 years of age who receive this type of assistance and have not yet qualified for a pension. Until now, we had 50 beneficiaries, and after the revision, that number is 43. For this category of social benefits, the Centar Municipality budget allocates the amount of 38,000 BAM every year, said Mersida Veiz, expert associate for social protection in the Service for Labour, Health and Social Affairs, Refugees and Displaced Persons of Centar Municipality.
