(Patria) - The Government of the Federation of BiH today adopted the Decree on the payment of one-off aid to pensioners in FBiH.
This decree regulates the payment of monetary aid to beneficiaries of pensions of the Federal Pension and Disability Insurance Institute, with the aim of improving the material and social position of pensioners.
The total funds for the implementation of this decree will be secured in the Budget of the Federation of BiH for 2024.
The monetary amount is paid to pension beneficiaries who were receiving pensions on the day this decree comes into force.
The decree comes into force on the day of its adoption and will be published in the Official Gazette of FBiH.
An amount of 100 KM is paid to pension beneficiaries who are entitled to the guaranteed pension amount and the guaranteed pension.
An amount of 50 KM is paid to pension beneficiaries who are entitled to amounts from the guaranteed pension up to 1,000 KM.
The Government of the Federation of BiH also adopted a conclusion tasking the Federal Pension and Disability Insurance Institute to complete the necessary preparations within five days and start paying this one-off aid to pensioners.
As explained, following meetings with representatives of the Union of Pensioners' Associations in the Federation of BiH and the Union of Cantonal Pensioners' Associations in the Federation of BiH, where, among other things, modalities for paying monetary aid to this category of the population were discussed, the Government of the Federation of BiH decided to adopt a decree that will enable the payment of a monetary amount as a form of support for the material and social position of pensioners.
Also, the explanation stated that based on data from pension payments for September of this year, approximately 37 million KM is needed for the payment of aid to a total of 402,579 pensioners, of which approximately 34,451,000 KM is needed for the 100 KM amount (for 344,510 pensioners), while approximately 2,903,450 KM is needed for the 50 KM aid amount (for 58,069 pensioners).
Addressing journalists in Sarajevo, the Federal Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić said that this monetary aid to pensioners will be paid as soon as possible, i.e., during November. He added that there will be no need to wait for a budget rebalance or the November pension in December.
Otherwise, it was previously promised to pensioners that amounts of 100 and 200 KM would be paid to them, but this was apparently a false pre-election promise.
