Plaque with Ustasha inscription Za dom spremni removed from Jasenovac

The HOS plaque with the Ustasha greeting "Za dom spremni" has been removed from Jasenovac and is expected to be placed in Novska, Nova TV reports, according to the Patria agency.  

- The memorial plaque will be moved in its original form to the area of the city of Novska. Many political pyromaniacs are setting fires, and I hope the Government, if not this one, then another, will resolve this. The HOS coat of arms will always be on the plaque, and below it will be "Za dom spremni". Everyone who says this is treason has the right to think so. But I ask them, when the HOS volunteers association invited them to place the plaque in Jasenovac, many of them did not come. Today they all have their opinions, but I don't blame them – said Ivan Friščić, president of the HOS Volunteers Association.

Marko Skejo, commander of the HOS war brigade "Rafael vitez Boban", greeted journalists with "Hvaljen Isus i Marija" (Jesus and Mary be praised). At the end, Skejo again greeted them with "the old Croatian greeting": "Bog i Hrvati! Za dom spremni" (God and Croats! Ready for the homeland), to which some responded with "spremni" (ready).

In recent months, leaders of HOS associations claimed that removing their plaque was out of the question, but in recent days, some of their representatives have expressed readiness to move the plaque to Novska or to remove the greeting "Za dom spremni" from the plaque in Jasenovac.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said at a Government session last week that "the context of the Ustasha camp in Jasenovac and the greeting 'Za dom spremni' in that same Jasenovac do not go together" and announced that this issue would be legally regulated in March next year.
