Robbery in the center of Banja Luka: Thieves stole 50,000 KM from a currency exchange office

An unknown person, or persons, robbed a currency exchange office in the center of Banja Luka. 50 thousand KM were stolen, reports the Patria News Agency.

The police conducted an on-site investigation. As stated, footage from a surveillance camera in the passage between Gospodska Street and the Old Crafts Center, where the currency exchange office is located, was also taken. As the passage is not well-lit, the police announced that they will also take footage from other surveillance cameras located in Gospodska Street to help them identify the perpetrators of the aggravated theft.

The police confirmed that the thieves entered through a common entrance leading to several other business premises. The cash register, which contained the money, was located under the counter of the currency exchange office and, as stated, was attached to the floor of the business premises. Although the cash register weighs about 100 kilograms, the thieves ripped it out and took it away.

The aggravated theft at the currency exchange office in Veselina Masleše Street was reported to the Centar Banja Luka Police Station around 02:45 AM.

The owner of the currency exchange office said that the thieves took everything he had and that after the aggravated theft, he will be forced to close the currency exchange office, ATV reported.
