Plenković: The Election Law was one of the key prerequisites for the current coalition at the state level, I expect an agreement

(Patria) - Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković is visiting BiH today, specifically Banja Luka, where he attended the ordination of the new Banja Luka bishop Željko Majić.

In a statement to the media, Plenković revealed that he is well acquainted with the process of adopting certain laws and what remains unresolved. He expressed hope that an agreement would be reached on the Law on Courts and the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest. However, he did not forget the Election Law.

"We hope for an agreement on the Election Law soon. As you know, it was one of the key prerequisites for the current coalition at the state level. We believe that this anomaly, in the sense that it has happened four times that Croats do not have a representative for the member of the Presidency of BiH who is elected by the majority of the Croatian people, should and can be corrected if there is political will.

The proposal presented at the leaders' meeting in Laktaši is a step in that direction, discussions are continuing, and we hope that consensus will be reached because BiH will certainly function better and more harmoniously if all peoples within it are satisfied," said Plenković.
