Kind people built a roof for the Čeliković family, now they are furnishing the interior

VLASENICA, (Patria) - Avdo Čeliković (57) and his family have a roof over their heads. With the help of the humanitarian association „Svjetlo“ and kind people from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the diaspora who support the work of this association, Čeliković managed to build a roof on his house in the village of Jarovlje near Vlasenica.

Čeliković is a severe lung patient. Together with his son, daughter-in-law, and a four-month-old baby, he lived in a house that had no roof and whose walls let in moisture.

„When I was healthy, I tried to provide my family with a decent life as much as possible. Now I depend on the help of good people“, Čeliković told the Patria news agency in April. Two months later, his house has a roof, and humanitarians are now trying to furnish the interior of the house as well.

„We are most happy for our baby. We used to be afraid for her health. Now everything looks much better“, the family is grateful. 

Kind people also donated a cow, as well as several sheep and goats to the Čeliković family, which should be enough for them to have enough dairy products for themselves.
