Hiker on Trebević experiences heart attack symptoms, rescued by GSS Novi Grad Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Mountain Rescue Service Novi Grad carried out its first intervention of the new year today. 

At 1:45 PM, they received a call on the emergency number that a hiker, B. H., born in 1958 from Sarajevo, was located near the summit of Trebević with chest pains and suspected heart attack.

They assembled the duty team and headed to the location.

"Given the deep snow and very difficult conditions, we notified and put on standby all Mountain Rescue Services of Sarajevo Canton, where we were joined by one team from GSS Trebević, one team from SK Wolf, and a police patrol from East Sarajevo, Trebević station. We also informed the head of GSS RS, Miro Kalem. Upon arriving at the scene, we determined that the woman was communicative and had stable vital parameters, and we transported her using an AKI boat to our vehicle, and then we transported her to the vehicle of the Institute for Emergency Medical Assistance of Sarajevo Canton at the parking lot near Hotel Pino Nature," stated the GSS Novi Grad Sarajevo.

The operation lasted just under two hours and involved a total of 17 members of the aforementioned services.
