Hikers, fans, citizens, colleagues bid farewell to deceased Šimić

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – Numerous hiking associations are bidding farewell to the deceased hiker Rade Šimić, who died today in a fall on Mount Prenj, the Cetina massif, when an avalanche was triggered.

Fans of Sloboda, FK Sarajevo, and numerous hikers with whom Šimić went on excursions have also sent their final farewell to this young man, who was also a lieutenant in the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

His body has not yet been brought down from the mountain due to the inaccessible terrain. A helicopter of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina that approached the site had to return because of strong winds.

Numerous teams of the Mountain Rescue Service have headed to the location where the deceased hiker is. The operation to extract the body will take hours, and may continue tomorrow as it is already night.
