With the song 'Letter to My Son and All Our Sons' we can be louder than hate

Kristijan Salihović, a singer-songwriter from Sarajevo, has launched a fundraising campaign for the production of a music video for the song „Letter to My Son and All Our Sons“, which has already been recorded in the Lakrima music studio, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The song is a product of the belief that Kristijan's father Hasan instilled in him: „Do not hate those who are different from you, regardless of religion, nationality, race. Get to know them better, do not be afraid, and take care of them as you take care of your own. See them as brothers.“

- With this song, I tell sons to see each other as brothers, regardless of their religion and nationality, because otherwise there is no happy future for them in BiH. 20 years after the war in BiH, hate is still louder and stronger than love. For now, this song is just my voice for a better tomorrow for our children. Support it. Together we can be louder than hate – Kristijan said.

As he states, the song was born out of love for his 9-year-old son Karlo, who should not experience what he saw in the war from 1992 to 1995.

Kristijan has completed 50% of the work, but for a proper understanding of the song's message, a visual element is necessary. The song will not be heard until the music video is also filmed. The video will be made with the production company Gotiva, and for filming, DVDs, t-shirts, flyers, and posters, $4,200 US dollars are needed, and so far, $1,212 has been collected via www.indiegogo.com.

In the last seven days, there have been very few donations, so Kristijan has enabled payments in BAM to a bank account as well.

- I decided, at the request of many friends and people of good will, to open an account and enable donations in this way even before the end of the launched campaign. Let's reach the goal! A video for Letter to My Son and All Our Sons and our voice for a common future for our children in peace, their mutual respect and brotherly treatment, regardless of their ethnic/religious affiliation – Kristijan wrote on Facebook.
