Selma Obradović's poem won the Musa Ćazim Ćatić poetry award

Based on the public competition announced by the Cultural Association "Musa Ćazim Ćatić" for the "Musa Ćazim Ćatić" poetry award for 2016, the jury consisting of Abdulah Sidran (president), Dorta Jagić and Mensur Ćatić, on February 29, 2016, selected ten authors from among 216 applicants and over 600 submitted poems who made it to the shortlist for the awards, and among them the winner and recipient of the "Musa Ćazim Ćatić" award, as well as the recipients of the second and third prizes, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

First place was won by Selma Obradović from Sarajevo with the poem "Ethereal People", second place by Elvedin Nezirović with the poem "Indifference", and third place went to Ružica Kopačević Miličević from Austria with the poem "Geography of Life".

The goal of the Cultural Association "Musa Ćazim Ćatić" is to contribute to cultural activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, popularize poetic expression, and primarily revive the character and work of the great Bosnian poet Musa Ćazim Ćatić, thus preserving him from oblivion.

- By participating in our competition for the "Musa Ćazim Ćatić" literary award, you have helped us achieve all three set goals, so in sign of gratitude, we are preparing an electronic anthology with 101 poems on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of M.Ć.Ćatić's death, wishing you many good poems and success in life - said Husein Ismailović, president of the Association, reports Patria.
