(Patria) - Prime Minister of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) Nezir Pivić today received the new coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in BiH, Gökhana Umuta, for an introductory visit, with whom he discussed modalities of future joint cooperation on projects of importance for ZDK.
Pivić thanked the Government of Turkey and the TIKA agency for the excellent cooperation to date, emphasizing that Bosnia and Herzegovina has achieved significant economic and social progress since TIKA's arrival in BiH in 1995, and that the Government he leads is not solely seeking assistance, but wishes to participate together in the implementation of projects on a partnership basis.
He particularly thanked Turkey for its support and assistance in reviving the General BH Fair ZEPS last year and this year, through the participation of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, as well as for numerous implemented projects focusing on the field of education.
He stressed the readiness of the ZDK Government as the founder to continue supporting the Turkish Language and Literature Study Program at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zenica, as one of the links between the friendly peoples of BiH and Turkey.
On this occasion, mutual readiness for continued cooperation was confirmed, which will focus on educational projects in the coming period.
