Pivić 'drew' for Schmidt: History has placed Izetbegović on the side of good and justice, and Mladić on the side of crime and evil

(Patria) - The Prime Minister of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Nezir Pivić, commented on the statement of High Representative Christian Schmidt that photos of Ratko Mladić and Alija Izetbegović in textbooks are an equal problem.

Pivić emphasizes that Schmidt is trying to equate two individuals whom history itself has placed on two different sides - the late president Alija Izetbegović on the side of good and justice, and Ratko Mladić on the side of crime and evil.

"Our children must learn the truth that the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the command of the late Izetbegović defended the greatest civilizational values and that he was an intellectual and thinker recognized in the East and West.

The Army of the Republika Srpska under the command of Mladić committed the most horrific crimes in Europe after World War II, for which he was convicted before the Hague Tribunal.

These are historical and legal facts that are respected as such and are not subject to re-examination. Any re-examination is historical revisionism," Pivić stated on his Facebook profile.
