Letter to Tegeltija: Even after 20 days, no information on what the HJPC has done in the case of Dženan Memić

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Muriz Memić, the father of the murdered young man Dženan Memić, today sent a letter to the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council and its President Milan Tegeltija, stating that from May 22 until today there has been no reaction from this institution.

At the meeting held on May 22 at the HJPC, Memić, together with his lawyer Ifet Feraget, presented material evidence and facts regarding the murder of Dženan Memić on February 8, 2016, in Velika aleja. In the letter, Memić states that this evidence points to unacceptable and illegal omissions in the work of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, Chief Prosecutor Dalida Burzić, and the Federal Prosecutor's Office.

- I have the feeling, and time shows, that we were only received as a courtesy, primarily due to public pressure and media coverage. I am aware of your legal competencies regarding the appointment and placement of prosecutors and judges, as well as the mechanisms of action when those same prosecutors and judges do not work according to the law. Given that more than twenty days have passed since our conversation, I request that you, as a citizen and the injured party, inform me in writing what you have undertaken in the case of Dženan Memić – states Memić in the letter.
