(Patria) - On the occasion of the session of the Municipal Board (MB) of the SDP Novi Grad Sarajevo, scheduled for March 6, dissatisfied members, who claim they were not invited, have sent a letter to the party president Nermin Nikšić.
The letter is signed by Nermin Alihodžić on behalf of 27 members of the MB of the SDP BiH Novi Grad Sarajevo.
As they state, the Municipal Board lacks a quorum and legitimacy to make any decisions, given that the majority of members were not invited.
"Namely, everything we have warned about in the previous period, concerning the non-statutory activities of the illegitimate acting president of the MB, Abel Baltić, who was imposed, and a handful of MB members, continues. By this means, we remind you that 27 members of this MB had submitted a collective resignation as a reaction to the ban on the statutorily scheduled Electoral Conference in our municipal organization. According to the Statute, every MB member has the right to resign from membership in the MB. However, Article 48 of the Rules of Procedure of the MB of the SDP BiH Novi Grad Sarajevo states that the MB must decide on the submitted resignation," they state.
They emphasize that the collective resignation has never been considered nor accepted by the Municipal Board of the SDP Novi Grad Sarajevo, and that they remain formally and legally members of the MB Novi Grad Sarajevo.
"The failure to invite all MB members to the scheduled session represents a violation of the Statute. In addition, the proposed agenda of the session clearly indicates the continuation of synchronized and orchestrated non-statutory activities by the duo Baltić/Hadžić and the continued takeover of the MB Novi Grad Sarajevo by a handful of members and the imposition of their will on the majority. The agenda items 'Proposal for co-optation into the Presidency of the MB SDP BiH Novi Grad Sarajevo' and 'Electoral and Reporting Conference', along with the failure to invite the current majority of MB members, indicate a planned charade that is intended to be carried out, aimed at installing someone from the minority group as president of the MB, which is trying to impose its will, i.e., the will of the aforementioned duo Baltić/Hadžić, on the majority of MB members," they claim.
They add that this will be followed by the dissolution of Local Boards and the introduction of commissioners delegating a smaller number of members close to the Baltić/Hadžić group, thereby, as they claim, someone from that group would gain legitimacy for the election of the president.
"To discuss anything, even such an important topic for all members of this once extremely potent municipal organization of the SDP, which achieved the best results in the Canton of Sarajevo among all SDP municipal boards in the last elections, and not include the other (majority) side in the dialogue, which carried out all the activities and achieved those same election results, indicates that there is a suppression of freedom of speech, thought, and all those principles of social democracy that our SDP cherishes! In this regard, we want to tell you that if this session is held without the presence of all members of this MB, i.e., without us 27 MB members, we publicly inform you through this open letter that we are putting our SDP membership on hold and will wait for better times for sincere and true SDP members. We will not participate in the unanimity and arbitrariness of individuals, and someday it will be time to discuss this as well, and it will matter to someone," they conclude.
