Philippe Bober to Receive Honorary Heart of Sarajevo at 30th SFF

(Patria) - Philippe Bober, the visionary founder of Coproduction Office and producer of some of the
most revolutionary films in contemporary cinema, is the recipient of the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo at the 30th Sarajevo Film Festival.

Bober will be presented with the award for his outstanding contribution to the film industry and his role in shaping contemporary cinema through collaborations with some of the world's most innovative auteurs.

With an extraordinary career spanning over three decades, Bober has produced forty-two films to date, thirteen of which have been in the competition program of the Cannes Film Festival. His work includes producing two Palme d'Or winners: "Triangle of Sadness" (2022) and "The Square" (2017), both directed by Ruben Östlund.

"The authors I work with have the most personal, most original ideas and working methods. As a producer, I support them in pushing the boundaries of the cinematic language, while simultaneously engaging the audience," said Bober, reflecting on his career and work.

Throughout his career, he has built strong relationships with acclaimed auteurs such as Roy Andersson, Michelangelo Frammartino, Jessica Hausner, Ilya Khrzhanovskiy, Ruben Östlund, Carlos Reygadas, and Ulrich Seidl, whose films have won major awards in Cannes, Venice, and Berlin. His contribution to the Sarajevo Film Festival has been invaluable, as he has consistently supported projects that align with the Festival's mission to celebrate brave, creative voices in cinema.

Bober has been a friend of the Sarajevo Film Festival for over two decades. During that time,
he has been a festival programmer, a jury member, a producer of films screened at the Festival, and
one of the early supporters of CineLink.

The Honorary Heart of Sarajevo was established in 2005 with the aim of recognizing individuals for their exceptional contribution to the affirmation and development of the film industry, as well as their support and development of the Sarajevo Film Festival.
