Petrović replaced by Zec, suspected of war crimes!

Momir Zec, appointed two days ago as commissioner of the Headquarters by the RS Emergency Situations Headquarters in Doboj, is under investigation for war crimes against humanity, writes the BH news agency Patria!

As confirmed for NAP by the BiH Prosecutor's Office, the Special Department for War Crimes has an active case file concerning Zec and several other individuals.

According to previous media reports, the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton filed an indictment in 2009 against 15 individuals of Serb nationality accused of crimes against humanity and the civilian population, including General Zec, who was the commander of the Majevica Brigade of the Bosnian Serb Army's Eastern Bosnian Corps.

According to the indictment, all of them are accused of attacking the undefended village of Koraj in the municipality of Lopare during 1992, killing at least 57 residents and expelling the entire Muslim population.

- A number of residents were placed in collection centers and subsequently detained in the Batković camp near Bijeljina. In addition, they are suspected of burning down three mosques and destroying numerous business premises and houses in the area - the indictment stated.

Željka Cvijanović, Prime Minister of the RS and commander of the RS Emergency Situations Headquarters, stated two days ago at a press conference in Banja Luka that the Emergency Situations Headquarters had issued an order to place the Doboj City Emergency Situations Headquarters under the command of General Zec due to observed weaknesses in the removal of bulky waste from the city area.

Obren Petrović, the mayor of Doboj, stated yesterday in an interview with Klix.ba that this action by the RS Government constituted the imposition of military rule in that entity.

- Politics is interfering. This is a disaster. Even though people have a thousand problems, they are settling political scores. This is not the time for that - Petrović said.

When asked by journalists why Zec was appointed as commissioner, he said that his pro-Bosnian orientation had bothered someone.

- They thought Doboj would be destroyed by the flood, as well as the pro-Bosnian policy we are pursuing. When it became clear that we would survive, they are working against us by all means - Petrović said. Petrović stated that he had filed a criminal complaint against Prime Minister Cvijanović and General Momir Zec, reports Patria.
