Petrović: Removal of dangerous dogs from the streets begins on Monday

The Government of Sarajevo Canton tasked the Ministry of Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton at today's session to activate the earlier service for dog pound operations of KJKP „Rad“ d.o.o Sarajevo for the removal of rabid, dangerous and sick stray dogs in the area of Sarajevo Canton, reports the Patria news agency.

Zlatko Petrović, the relevant minister, stated in an interview with the Patria agency that he had said long ago to give him the authority and he would get the job done.

- I did that today and said whether we will cut this off or not. And here we have cut it off. I gave an order to activate the dog pound service that had been shut down. We will start with organizational activities tomorrow. I will promptly request from Monday, and possibly earlier, that the service be activated and that, in consultation with the veterinary service, aggressive and dangerous dogs be assessed and that this enters a final procedure, not the coddling that has been the case so far – says Petrović.

He confirmed that he has received the legal basis to remove dangerous and aggressive dogs from the streets of Sarajevo and that he will start doing so.
