Petar Đokić reiterated: Genocide should not be denied

(Patria) - Petar Đokić, president of the Socialist Party, which is one of SNSD's coalition partners and part of the ruling majority in Republika Srpska, told N1 that he stands by his position that genocide should not be denied.

He added that the issue of "truth about the war in the period '92-'95 should be investigated in a way that eminent scientific institutions, institutions dealing with historical analyses, are included." He emphasized that dialogue should be conducted and stated that "BiH should not repeat the experience of former Yugoslavia."

"We need to define the truth about everything that happened in that war based on real facts, define the truth, conclude the story in a way that accepts everything that was characteristic of that war. The crimes that happened should receive their dimension of a real description, without exaggeration, but also without underestimating any crime," Đokić said on Dan uživo.

When asked if this means that the verdicts of the International Court of Justice in The Hague should be respected, he briefly said:

"I clearly said that genocide should not be denied."
