Five candidates for SDP BiH president have sufficient number of membership signatures

At today's session of the Central Election Commission of the Social Democratic Party of BiH (CEC), held after verification of all submitted signatures of support for potential candidates for president of SDP BiH, it was established that a total of 15,384 valid signatures of support from SDP BiH members were received, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The potential candidates received the following number of signatures of support:

- Nermin Nikšić 6,713

- Jasmin Imamović 2,840

- Miro Lazović 2,424

- Svetozar Pudarić 1,777

- Emir Đikić 1,460

- Igor Vreta 170

 

The CEC confirmed that all candidates except Igor Vreta met the conditions for candidacy for President of SDP BiH, and proposed that the Main Board verify these five members of SDP BiH and officially confirm their candidate status.

Elections for the leader of SDP BiH will be held on September 20, and this will be the first time in BiH that all members of a political party will elect their president on the principle of One member-one vote by secret ballot.
