Pensioners have no more patience: Mass protests on October 3 if the FBiH Government does not meet demands

(Patria) - Pensioners in the Federation of BiH have announced mass protests for October 3 if the Government of the Federation of BiH does not meet their demands, which are expected to be on the agenda of today's session in Mostar, concluded the yesterday's meeting of the Alliance of Pensioners' Associations of FBiH, held in Fojnica.

Pensioners are demanding an increase in pensions, i.e., amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance (PIO) in the part related to the harmonization of their income. Monthly, 290 million KM are needed for pension payments.

They also demand that a solution be found for an extraordinary pension harmonization of seven percent this year, as well as the payment of a one-time financial aid.

The one-time financial aid could be paid from the rebalancing of the FBiH Budget, which is not yet ready and has not been sent to the parliamentary procedure.

Pensioners with pensions up to 1,000 KM would receive 200 KM, and those with pensions over 1,000 KM would receive 100 KM.

There are 451,004 pensioners in FBiH, and the lowest pension for August is 573.53 KM.

The average pension of independent pension beneficiaries, of whom there are 366,983 receiving payments for August, is 723.39 KM.
