Pensioners in FBiH collected almost 700,000 KM for flood victims

Around 380,000 pensioners receiving pensions from the Federation of BiH collected close to 700,000 KM for those affected by the floods in BiH, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The Federal Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, in cooperation with the Union of Pensioners' Associations in FBiH, decided to deduct one to three KM from all pensioners receiving pensions from FBiH from their May pensions, paid out in June. The collected money will be used to help those who suffered significant material damage during the devastating floods in BiH.

Amel Lizde, Head of the Public Relations Office at the PIO FBiH, confirmed to the Patria agency that 697,240 KM was collected during this one-time aid, and a plan is currently being made on how to best utilize the funds.

In addition to this money, employees of the PIO FBiH also collected 55,000 KM.

Pensioners who did not wish to participate in this campaign were given the option to request a refund, which will be returned to them upon the payment of their next pension.

Lizde said that 1,250 pensioners, or 0.37 percent, did not want to participate in this campaign and requested a refund.

The campaign of deducting money from pensions in FBiH applied only to May pensions and will not continue, writes the Patria agency.
