Pentagon: 60-kilometer Russian military convoy is stalled

(Patria) - The US Department of Defense says Russian forces have made little progress in the past 24 to 36 hours.

A 60-kilometer military convoy attempting to enter the capital, Kyiv, from the south has been slowed by Ukrainian fighters and "remains stalled," spokesperson John Kirby said on Wednesday.

"We believe that the Russians are regrouping and reassessing the progress they haven't made," he told reporters.

Kirby noted that the invading troops are generally facing less resistance in the south of the country than in the north.

However, he said the Pentagon cannot confirm that the southern city of Kherson has fallen, as the Russians have claimed.

Despite their slowed momentum, he warned, Russia retains additional power at its disposal that has yet to be used.
