Pendeš spoke with Farkas: Priority is activation of MAP, support from the US is important for BiH

Minister of Defence of BiH Marina Pendeš and associates met with Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence of the US Dr. Evelyn Farkas and associates during a three-day stay in the Republic of Croatia, reports the Patria news agency.

The main topics of the meeting held in Dubrovnik were activities related to the activation of MAP for BiH. Minister Pendeš informed the meeting participants about the efforts of the Ministry of Defence of BiH regarding the registration of prospective military property and the locations that have been registered.

Furthermore, the Minister spoke about the participation of members of the Armed Forces of BiH in peace support operations and activities on resolving surplus weapons, ammunition and mine-explosive devices, and particularly emphasised the donation of the MoD BiH to the coalition forces fighting against ISIL.

-Our priority is the activation of MAP, and on that path, the support of the United States of America is very important to us, said Minister Pendeš during the meeting.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence of the US Dr. Evelyn Farkas congratulated the Minister and all her associates on the registration of prospective military property, and expressed hope that this process will continue in the future. Likewise, Dr. Farkas mentioned the great contribution made by members of the AF BiH in peace operations, thereby helping to strengthen global security. She said that the US will fully continue to provide assistance to the MoD BiH through the US Embassy in BiH.

This meeting was held ahead of the comprehensive meeting of defence ministers of the American-Adriatic Charter and SEDM, as well as meetings of the Western Balkan Defence and Political Directors (WBDPD), the MoD BiH announced.
