Pendeš: Property Registration Underway, We Will Activate MAP

Today, the BiH Minister of Defence Marina Pendeš met with ambassadors of NATO countries in BiH, as well as with representatives of the Council of Ministers, where progress was presented compared to the last three months regarding the fulfillment of the Tallinn condition, i.e., the registration of prospective immovable military property, reports Patria News Agency.

"Soon, two additional locations will be registered. Out of a total of 63 locations recognized by the decision of the BiH Presidency, we have registered 28, and by the end of this month, two more, and by the end of November, one more location, which makes a total of 31 locations," Pendeš stated.

She said that if we talk about a future presidential decision based on the Defence Review, which implies a reduction to 57, we will have a total of 29 registered locations in the Federation of BiH.

"We have one that was ruled by the Constitutional Court in the RS, and we are trying to resolve the locations that are privately owned in the most appropriate way for the Ministry of Defence of BiH and the owners of these locations, and there are three such locations," Pendeš added.

The BiH Minister of Defence emphasized that all activities are being undertaken to ensure that even those locations that cannot be registered at this moment are recognized appropriately.

"You know that at the airports, Sarajevo or Butmir, then in Banja Luka, Tuzla, and Mostar, the entire area does not need to be owned by the Ministry of Defence and the BiH Armed Forces, which is why I have formed a commission that will analyze each location and divide the plots, so that what is prospective for the BiH Armed Forces is registered to the BiH Armed Forces, and the rest is registered to civil airports, i.e., the BiH Border Police and the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH," Pendeš opined.

She expressed hope for the activation of the MAP for BiH.

"I am convinced that there is full consensus within the Ministry of Defence of BiH and the Council of Ministers, with the support of the BiH Presidency, that we will succeed in activating the MAP for BiH, regardless of the fact that some are now expressing doubts about the full implementation of our plans."
