PDP will not participate in early elections for the President of Republika Srpska, nor in a government of national unity

(Patria) - The Presidency of the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP) unanimously decided not to participate in potential early elections for the President of Republika Srpska, said the president of that party, Draško Stanivuković, at a press conference today.

According to him, one should not go "to elections that are the result of such a court process, even if the PDP candidate were to win such elections".

- We do not recognize that a Serb, our institutions, are decapitated like that, that someone from the outside does it - said Stanivuković.

He added that he does not want to be a candidate in those elections.

- If foreigners removed someone, if Bosniak judges convicted them, and you go to elections, it means you are part of it. I don't want that. Let's go to regular elections - Stanivuković stated.

Stanivuković also says that PDP will not accept the invitation to join a government of national unity because, as he emphasized, SNSD is not a party that can call for unity.

He points out that it is necessary for all parties to sit down and reach an agreement on a candidate who would have credibility and who would commit to being a compromise solution for calming the situation until the general elections, if it is decided to participate in such elections.

Otherwise, as he said, there would be quarrels and divisions, and that should be avoided.
