Apiary and International Summer School: Students from Europe and the Region Gain New Experiences in Ilidža

An apiary and the international summer school  “Beekeeping: preserving our future” were opened today at the Butmir Experimental Polygon in Ilidža, reports the Patria news agency.

This school is the result of work within the TEMPUS project LifeADA (Lifelong learning for sustainable agriculture in Alps-Danube-Adriatic Region) at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences of the University of Sarajevo, which also initiated the establishment of an apiary of a scientific-research and professional nature.

The first international summer school is being held at the Butmir Experimental Polygon from September 4 to 24, with the participation of students from LifeADA partner institutions from Croatia, Germany, Austria, Albania, Kosovo, Slovenia, and Montenegro, as well as a group of beekeepers from the Association of Beekeepers of Sarajevo Canton.
