Beekeepers in Sarajevo got a roof organization, president is forestry expert Samir Omerović

Beekeepers from the Canton of Sarajevo have organized into the Association of Beekeepers of the Sarajevo Canton, which will be the umbrella organization for beekeepers and producers of bee products in the CS.

They elected Samir Omerović, a beekeeper and forestry expert, as the President of the Association, reports the BH news agency Patria.

For now, the Association of Beekeepers of the Sarajevo Canton includes local beekeeping associations from Ilijaš, Vogošća, Ilidža, and Hadžići, and local beekeeping associations from other Sarajevo municipalities can join them.

Beekeepers explain that the umbrella organization of beekeepers in the Sarajevo Canton will fight for the protection of bees in this area, better incentives for beekeepers, the creation of local laws, and will fight for stricter and better protection of the health of bee colonies, and for the education of beekeepers.

The founding assembly of the Association of Beekeepers of the Sarajevo Canton was held on Saturday in the multimedia hall of the Igman cinema in Ilidža, writes NAP.
