Patriarch Porfirije in isolation from Banja Luka

SARAJevo, (Patria) - His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije has tested positive for coronavirus and will spend the coming days in home treatment in accordance with the protocol and doctors' advice, it was announced from the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC).

"His Holiness has very mild symptoms of viral infection, has been prescribed appropriate therapy and respects all epidemiological measures. He is in constant contact with his associates via electronic communication and carries out administrative tasks completely unimpeded," the statement said.

The SPC states that the patriarch continues to prayerfully support doctors and medical staff in their efforts, and especially prays for the healing of all those affected by the epidemic.

Patriarch Porfirije expresses regret that public events in which he was supposed to participate are postponed indefinitely.
