Patriarch Irinej Trying to Save Dodik: Organizes Meeting of All Serb Parties on November 5

After the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, confirmed his attendance at the meeting scheduled for November 5 by Patriarch Irinej, representatives of other political parties also commented, reports the Patria News Agency.

At a regular press conference, held this time at Banj Brdo in Banja Luka, Igor Crnadak did not speak on behalf of PDP, but in his own name.

- I did not receive an invitation, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igor Crnadak.

Patriarch Irinej's intention is to gather representatives of all Serb parties from Republika Srpska. The official website of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral confirmed that the problems of Republika Srpska and Serbia will be discussed in Bijeljina.

The SDS stated that they received an invitation and that the party leader Mladen Bosić will attend the meeting.

In the previous period, the Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, also called for unity among political parties in Republika Srpska. Although a clear message of unity among Serb parties was heard after every official meeting on both sides of the Drina, relations between the authorities and the opposition have not changed.

Even after two attempts by Milorad Dodik, the opposition did not respond to the invitation for a meeting at the Palace of the Republic. The joint meeting, scheduled this time by Patriarch Irinej, is seen by many as another attempt to thaw relations in Republika Srpska.

As a reminder, two days before the General Elections in October 2014, Patriarch Irinej wished Milorad Dodik, the President of Republika Srpska, and his associates to continue leading the people in RS as they had done so far.

The Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church is the only religious authority who directly suggested to the faithful for whom to vote, thus publicly showing his support for Dodik and SNSD.
