PATRIA WITH MINERS Komorat Sokić: We dig our bread, SDA collects the cream

BREZA, (Patria) - In five days, Breza miner Ferid Sokić will "celebrate" 18 years of work at the Breza Lignite Mine.

Of these 18 years, the state has "stolen" 12 years of work experience and contributions from Ferid. That is why Ferid, like all other miners in Breza and RMU Zenica, has started a general strike.

They say they have had enough of everything, because they cannot mine as much as the ruling structures and administration can "eat".

Ferid has worked in several positions in the production process and has advanced thanks to his dedicated work.

 

Today, Ferid Sokić is bitter towards those who decide the fate of the miners, and he tells the Patria agency: "Currently, the biggest problem in the mines is the 'surplus' of workers. Everyone is to blame for this, from the Government of FBiH, Elektroprivreda BiH, and so on. There are not enough of us production workers, but I think we who go down into the pit earn our bread".

As he says, most parties have come, and only one has not, and it collects the biggest cream.

"As far as I can remember in these 18 years, SDA has not come, and it collects the biggest cream. All parties can come and go, but that party has sunk both the mines and the country," Sokić states.

He adds that the management of RMU Breza's attitude towards the workers is currently not bad.

He blames former managements and party-based management for the bad situation.

"The biggest problem are the former managements who hired cronies based on party affiliation. Every party brought its own director and its own people here, and those people remained, while we go down into the mine and dig for all those workers," says Sokić.

He identified the Government of FBiH and Elektroprivreda as the biggest culprits.

"The Government of the Federation likes to fill its cup from our production, but they do not do what they should," Sokić concluded in his conversation with the Patria agency.
