Partnership for Open Government: TI BiH Organizes "Open Government Cafe"

Transparency International in Bosnia and Herzegovina (TI BiH), in cooperation with a coalition of non-governmental organizations within the Open Government Partnership (OGP) initiative, is organizing an "Open Government Cafe".

The goal of the Open Government Cafe is to present the benefits offered by the OGP initiative by showcasing the activities undertaken so far by the institutions of the Federation of BiH regarding proactive transparency. This occasion will discuss mechanisms for improving communication with interest groups and citizens with the aim of opening up government, and thus strengthening transparency and accountability in the work of public administration, which is one of the proclaimed principles in the Reform Agenda for BiH 2015-2018.

The Open Government Cafe concept will uniquely present various forms of cooperation between civil society and the public sector across 4 separate podiums: open data, social networks, proactive transparency, and the Open Government Partnership. This event is a good opportunity for representatives of institutions in BiH, civil society, and young innovators who will present ideas on how to utilize today's most valuable potential - data, and how to ensure better communication with interest groups through digital media, a resource available to us almost free of charge, to meet in one place.

Support for the concept of transparent and open government will be given by the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, Fadil Novalić, who will mark the beginning of the Open Government Cafe's work with his opening address.

The event will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017, at the Hotel Bristol starting at 10:00 AM.
