Parliament supports Saša Magazinović's initiative to prevent abuse of official cars

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - After the Commission for Transport and Communications unanimously adopted Saša Magazinović's initiative, which obliges the Council of Ministers of BiH to, within 30 days, adopt an amendment to the Rulebook on the conditions for procurement and the manner of use of official vehicles in BiH institutions, in a way that prescribes clear marking of official vehicles with a sticker or another appropriate method so that it is clearly visible to road users, as well as citizens, that it is an official vehicle and which institution it belongs to, all in order to prevent misuse of use, the initiative received the support of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament.

Shortly before that, support was also received from the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The adoption of this initiative, whose implementation will put an end to the misuse of official vehicles, is a big step towards restoring citizens' trust in institutions, where in certain segments of work, order and law are clearly not in place, but also a clear message to all other levels of government to take the same step.

The Council of Ministers of BiH should implement the initiative within the prescribed period by amending the Rulebook on the conditions for procurement and use of official vehicles so that they are visibly marked, and inform citizens about these activities so that irregularities in the use of official vehicles can be reported.

"On this occasion, Magazinović stated that the illegal disposal of state property in this way also contains elements of criminal offenses of trading in influence, damage to the budget, and abuse of office, which gives this initiative additional significance.

He expressed gratitude to all MPs who supported the initiative, thus showing that the policy of introducing order and transparency in the work of institutions has support in the BiH Parliament in this case," the SDP announced.
