FBiH Parliament: 5,000 jobs lost in 2025, number of pensioners increased by 15,000 since 2024

As explained by Mirza Čelik from DF, according to official statistical data, the number of employed people in FBiH significantly decreased in the period from the end of December 2024 compared to September 2025, from 551,452 to 546,782, which is 4,670 fewer jobs.

Minister of Labour and Social Policy Adnan Delić addressed the representatives, presenting the information based on data from the FBiH Tax Administration, confirming the numbers indicating a decrease in the number of jobs compared to the end of 2024.

Delić based his comparison on the period January-September 2025, stating that there was a plus of 528 employed people.

Head of the SDA Club Mirsad Zaimović stated in his discussion that the number of pensioners has increased along with this decrease in the number of employed people.

"Compared to the beginning of 2024, in August 2025, the number of pensioners increased by more than 15,000," said Zaimović.

Admir Čavalić, head of the Party for BiH Club, stated that the information submitted yesterday by the FBiH Government lists data of 5,000 fewer employed people in 2025.

"For the first time this year, it has been acknowledged that we have a decline in employment. We have written confirmation from the Government," said Čavalić.

He pointed out that there were 95,000 newly employed people in the period from 2014 to 2023.

"From April 2023 to today, 7,200 jobs have been created. I am glad that we are discussing this today. No matter how you look at this statistic, we have lost 5,000 jobs."

Čavalić pointed out that statistics showed 300 more workers at gas stations, while 2,000 workers were lost in retail after the introduction of the non-working Sunday.
