FBiH Parliament becomes hostage of the Government and HDZ

(Patria) - The session of the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament, scheduled for December 9, was cancelled after the session of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament was not held yesterday.

Although the representatives came to the session, the Speaker Dragan Mioković informed the representatives that the FBiH Government had requested the session be postponed due to unharmonized fiscal laws, which he did.

Consequently, the delegates were informed on Friday afternoon that the session of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH was also postponed. The Speaker of the House of Peoples, Tomislav Martinović (HDZ), informed them of this.

Delegate Vedrana Vujović published the notice about the postponement of the session.

Numerous representatives and delegates from opposition parties pointed out that the cancellation of sessions at the request of the FBiH Government has led to a role reversal. Parliament is the body that confirms the Government and to which the Government should report. However, in this convocation of Parliament, some new practices have clearly been introduced. The Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić almost never appears at sessions, and is regularly replaced by Vojin Mijatović.

The Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament have been amended, which excludes or reduces the rights of the opposition in certain committees and in the decision-making process. In this way, Parliament is subjugated to the will of 50 representatives who form the majority. Although even that majority is questionable from session to session.
